He also says that it is not possible to cannot the perception travellers have on the destination by “just providing information”.

I myself do not know much about Nebraska nor I have the intention of visiting this state. However, I believe that Nebraska did a very good job as my interest is drawn to this destination after hearing this new ‘perspective’. Their previous slogans “Nebraska Nice”, “Possibilities….endless”. and “Send a postcard from Nebraska” sounded like any ordinary destination; however, the new campaign with slogans “Famous for our flat, boring landscape”, “Honestly its not for everyone”, “There’s nothing to do here”, and “Another day on the dusty plans” makes it really stand out and creates a big impact on social media as others are coming up with funny slogans to add on and people are researching about Nebraska to do so. The funniest one by far is “More cows than people since 1827…oh wait its true”. Ricks said that to make people listen, you have to hook them somehow. I truly believe that this has not only impacted Nebraska, but will set a benchmark for any future low tourism destinations to think differently.

Nebraska wants tourists to know the state is ‘flat, boring’ and ‘not for everyone’

Is there such thing as a boring destination?
