This visual design helps me see what I care for and want to carry in my life.

I chose Vancouver Island because I want to gain credibility and expertise on what is happening where I currently live before expanding to new horizons. I came to believe that home is now Vancouver Island, not Quebec, but the nomad in me still wants to explore more. If an opportunity abroad occurs, there are good chances I will jump on it. It connects with the picture of the plane, an old dream of mine to have more freedom to work and travel abroad. With the new reality of working remotely, my next career could bring me to travel the world.

As a woman entrepreneur, my current work is helping coffee shops, restaurants, and events to switch to reusable items to improve the general to-go culture. Since college, I have been involved in environmental and food committees, and I am happy that my lifelong passion has allowed me to start a small business. Reducing our waste is a big part of fighting climate change. Thanks to the MACAL program, I now understand climate science, how to build a business case for climate change, and climate resilience. I want to bring all that into my business and eventually become a consultant or work with community groups in building circular economy plans. I currently work at Royal Roads and love my position as a student recruiter; I create change there, even if not related to climate. A possibility would be that Royal Roads grows its climate action team which will be very interesting for me. Next year I am turning 40 and visualize a career change.

The trees represent the interconnectedness of life. The more I learn about how we are all connected (humans, plants, animals, earth), the more I want to pursue this work of showing others how to take care of the land. I am motivated by the younger generation doing the work and standing up for their (our) future. I carry hope with me daily.

The three words (reuse, share, care) are from my company and showcase how I envision the world. It is an area where I can provide leadership; I spent so much time over the last four years digging into the circular economy model and how we can apply it to many spheres of society.

Since I started the MACAL program, I have seen how everyone needs a seat at the table. I aim to do things differently, collaboratively, and inclusively. I want to surround myself with people who do so. Being an ally is crucial for me.
