Sooke Volunteerism

The most major project that we all worked on has to be the Sooke project. For the course Transforming Destination, our cohort was divided into 5 groups, each group had their own topic that related to a matter which slows down tourism growth in Sooke community. As team 5, myself and 2 other teammates were working on improving volunteerism in events in Sooke.

Transforming Destination – Sooke Project

On the 23th November 2017, our class were lucky enough to present our research, findings and recommendations on the issues that we were working on to all major Sooke tourism stakeholders at the Prestige Oceanfront Resort in Sooke. After 4 fascinating and informative presentations of the first 4 teams, Team 5’s presentation on Volunteerism and Events in Sooke starts at 1:03:53.

It was our honour to be able to present this project to Sooke tourism stakeholders as our initiative of enhancing Sooke’s attractiveness as a tourism destination. The presentation ended successfully with MATM cohort being featured on Sooke Pocket News:
