Brief Description:

World Café is an informal method of collecting data from multiple groups of people. It is similar to a focus group, but aimed at generating stakeholder engagement specifically.

Strengths:
- Considered an effective method to engage stakeholders.
- Structured to generate conversation.
- Question design is paramount.
Challenges:
- Data may be difficult to transcribe.
- Data may be time consuming to analyze.
Tips from the Professor: Because World Café is specifically designed for stakeholder engagement it is a great method for government engagement sessions. While data generated can be difficult to transcribe and analyze – don’t let that scare you away!
